READING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND // BOOKTAG

So, it’s officially the holiday season now. It’s about 2 weeks until Christmas, aaaaaand… That’s close enough for me to start singing ‘Jingle Bell Rock’.

But what better to get into the season even more than… A WINTER-THEMED BOOK TAG! Hooray!

I don’t know if this is still a ‘cool’ tag, or whatever, but I found it over here, and I just had to do it. It’s so cozy and quick and fun. Also, I really want to answer these questions because they’re just so cute!

AH, RANTING, LET ME COUNT THE WAYS I LOVE THEE // UNPOPULAR OPINIONS #BOOKTAG

This tag is seriously God’s gift to bookworms. Finally, we can all reveal our innermost hated books, and be unashamed! I was originally going to to this tag spontaneously, untagged, but I was tagged at the last moment by the lovely Rachel from 26 Countless Possibilities (go give her blog a peek, it’s adorable).

But seriously. I’m about to get real with the anger. So be prepared for some steam-blowing, or FIND ANOTHER POST! *dances frantically to Shake It Off*

Would You Rather Book Tag

Hello, my fellow bookworms! Today I am going to be doing a book tag that has been circling around the blog community. After reading my amazing friend Adriana’s piece at Adriana Gabrielle Writes (and begging her to tag me), I was inspired to complete these 10 grueling questions and have you guys learn a little more about my personality and book preferences.

So, without further ado, let’s jump into this tag. Wish me luck!

This one is easy: trilogies! Standalones tend to leave me feeling unsatisfied, whereas trilogies can pack so much more of a punch.

I guess I’d have to say female. Right now, more than half of my favorite books ever are by women. The Throne of Glass series, the Harry Potter series, the Little Women series, the Lunar Chronicles…

Amazon, hands-down. Barnes & Noble is (and I hate to admit it) wicked expensive. On Amazon, you can generally find the hardcover versions for the price of the softcover versions at B&N.

TV shows! That would be awesome! Can you imagine Celaena, Chaol, and Dorian coming on every week? *hyperventilating*

5 books per week. I have actually done this a few times.

Now, this one is really friggin hard. I have wanted to be an author ever since I was a little girl, because the power to bring the happiness that I feel when reading a book to millions of people around the world seems like such an amazing feat. But I suppose I’ll choose reviewer, because writing is hard for me.

Books I haven’t read before. Let’s be honest, there are so many books out there in the world that could fill my heart just as well as my faves.

LIBRARIAN. You don’t feel the pressure to sell stuff, you don’t have the awkwardness of people only getting one book, it’s just better in every way.

I’d have to say every genre except my favorite. I’m sorry. But this one isn’t so hard because I couldn’t actually tell you, off the top of my head, what my favorite genre is! Maybe fantasy, maybe classics, maybe dystopian…

Physical. I ain’t got nothing against eBooks, they are handy and easy-to-use, but I love the feel, look, and smell of real books so much more.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Thank you so much for reading! That completes my Would You Rather book tag. I am feeling pretty guilty right now, because I feel like I betrayed my books… I shall persevere. 🙂

I would like to tag… EVERYONE! *smile* That makes it so much easier for me. God, I always feel so stupid at the end of these things because I can never think of anyone to tag. I will someday! But that day… seems like it won’t be today.

Have an awesome Saturday.

The Book Courtship Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Rebecca from 26 Countless Possibilities to do this cute tag! I’m not exactly sure why or where it originated from, but I do know that it’s a very popular book tag right now. If you don’t know what a ‘book tag’ is, it’s a list of questions that blogs and booktubers pass along the internet that you answer in order for your readers to become more acquainted with you and your book choices. 🙂 So without further ado, here are the questions and answers!

1.  Initial Attraction: a book you bought because of the cover.

The_Selection_Cover

I have a strange relationship with this series, and I probably wouldn’t have bought this if not for the gorgeous cover.

2.  First Impressions:  a book you got because of the summary.

Alright you guys, here’s a little confession: I actually don’t buy many books. Yeah. It’s true. Most of the books I read are from the library. This one was an ebook loan. I got it because it sounded really cool and twisted.

3.  Sweet Talk:  a book with great writing.

V.E. Schwab’s writing is so crisp and to the point. It has many subtleties and variations. I just fell in love with her style.

4.  First Date:  a first book of a series that made you want to pursue the rest.

5.  Late Night Phone Calls: a book that kept you up all night.

6. Always On My Mind:  a book that you cannot stop thinking about.

The third book in the Throne of Glass series, this had so much plot and character development that I can’t stop wondering how it will continue into Queen of Shadows.
7. Getting Physical:  a book which you love the way it feels.

The embossing and drawing on this is just spectacular.
8. Meeting the Parents:  a book that you would recommend to your friends and family.

This is the most amazing family-friendly series, and two of my brothers are currently reading it.
9. Thinking About the Future:  a book, or series, that you know you’ll re-read in the future

After watching the entire movie series, I will probably reread this for a third time. 😛
10.  Spread the Love: Who would you like to tag?

And YOU!  If you are reading this and want to do the tag – go for it!
