THE MOST FABULOUS BOOKS I READ IN 2015 // TTT

It was so much easier to narrow down the top authors of this year on last week’s Top Ten Tuesday post, but now… I have to choose just ten books? ARRRRGGGHHHH! These end-of-year prompts are really cracking down on me.

Alright, I guess it’s time for me to finally narrow it down. I read a lot of series this year, so I’ll only list the first book of a series if I enjoyed the series as a whole… does that make sense? Whatever, let’s just crack on.

~ Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison:

A brilliantly silly book about a lovelorn 14-year-old with a wild Scottish cat and a couple of ‘totally loony’ friends. I absolutely luuuurve this series.

~ Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella:

Ah, the many escapades of addicted-to-shopping Becky! Definitely a keeper for 2015 and many years to come. I fell in love at the first page.

~ Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare:

Brilliantly written action scenes with characters that mesh together like clockwork (ah, ah, get it? I am a comedic genius). Proud Jessa diehard forever, and a Magnus fan as well. Read my full review here.

~ Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas:

The character development! The monsters! The many, many, many romances! A masterpiece of a series with a hooking first book. You don’t know how much of a Sarah J. Maas fan I am, and believe me, you don’t want to know.

~ Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor:

Chimaera and angels and teeth, oh my! The uniqueness of this trilogy may be proclaimed far and wide. Combine intricately woven characters with an exquisitely written backstory and an absolutely luscious writing style, and we have a winner for 2015, folks. Read my full review here.

 

~ The Young Elites by Marie Lu:

Whew, this book was dark. Protagonists were antagonists and everything was wishy-washy, but I loved it anyways. Read my full review here.

~ Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Sci-fi retellings of classic fairytales with the prettiest covers I’ve ever seen? Sign me up! These stories were quite the ride, and I’m getting Winter for Christmas. *faints from anticipation*

~ The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:

Well, I actually read this book in 2014, but I reread Mockingjay in March… does that count? Whatever, I’m counting it. Do we really need to question why I put this trilogy on my list? NO.

~ Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling:

What can I say? Mindy totally won me over in this hilarious memoir of hers. The anecdotes of sweaty dancing and totally random romances were funny as hell, and I always go to it in times of need (a.k.a. when I need to get over a character’s death).

~ A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas:

Sarah J. Maas wormed her way onto this list again. She managed to turn Beauty and the Beast into a sexy, action-packed adventure full of creepiness and excitement. *mic drop* Read my full review here.
