Today, I am going to be participating for the second time in this amazing weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish. Top Ten Tuesday is all about sharing your top faves and raves, or your top hates and rages! This Tuesday, we’re discussing my Top Ten TBR Books for Fall.
I had so much fun picking these out for you. 🙂
If you’d like to learn more and maybe even join, click here.
And now, here are this week’s picks for TOP TEN TUESDAY!
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Jude and her twin Noah were incredibly close – until a tragedy drove them apart, and now they are barely speaking.
I picked up this book because it was very highly recommended by Kat at Katytastic (she’s a booktuber). I’m about 20 pages in, and… right now, getting used to the writing style is all I can really manage. It’s very poetic and visual, for instance, “She was barfing bright blue barf all over the table.” Like, WTF does that even mean?
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger. She wakes from a coma in hospital with no memory of how she got there or of the bizarre accident that caused the deaths of her best friends and her boyfriend, yet left her mysteriously unharmed.
I really want to finish this book. I started it a few months ago, and then (for some reason) put it down for another book. But it was very interesting, and I can’t wait to get to the bottom of the mystery.
The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
What if you aren’t the Chosen One?
The one who’s supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?
This will be my first Patrick Ness novel, and I’m really excited. The premise just sounds amazing.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.
Guys, I’m basically addicted to Sarah J Maas. Her kickass fantasy Throne of Glass series is freaking amazing (reviews to come soon, I promise), and this new series from her sounds… so perfect!
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Set in a terrifyingly brutal Rome-like world, An Ember in the Ashes is an epic fantasy debut about an orphan fighting for her family and a soldier fighting for his freedom.
This book… just…. the raves. I absolutely have to pick it up before the second one comes out, and I love historical fiction, so it all fits.
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.
Alright, alright, I caved… I’m reading a YA book before the movie comes out, just so I can feel satisfied before watching the movie. But honestly, my favorite booktuber, Christine from PolandBanansBOOKS, has been recommending this book for years, so I just have to try this post-apocalyptic bundle of amazingness.
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley
Aza Ray Boyle is drowning in thin air. Since she was a baby, Aza has suffered from a mysterious lung disease that makes it ever harder for her to breathe, to speak—to live. So when Aza catches a glimpse of a ship in the sky, her family chalks it up to a cruel side effect of her medication. But Aza doesn’t think this is a hallucination.
This sounds a lot like Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, but also like one of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies, so I’m excited to see what’ll happen. 🙂
Winter by Marissa Meyer
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.
This Lunar Chronicles series is FANTASTIC, and I’m so excited (and at the same time *sad*) for this final installment to come out!
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
The book tells the tale of a boy who, following a horrific family tragedy, follows clues that take him to an abandoned orphanage on a Welsh island.
TIM BURTON IS MAKING A FRIGGING MOVIE OUT OF THIS BOOK. ‘NUFF SAID.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas
Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.
Now this one I have already read, and I enjoyed it so much! The fourth book in the Throne of Glass sixtet, this only came out 20 days ago and it was so amazing! The feels… they really hit me in the heart.

Alrighty, that concludes this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! Thanks again to The Broke and Bookish for hosting this meme, you guys are awesome. I’ll *hopefully* see you soon with a new book review.
Miss Peregrine’s is a great pick for this time of year because it is quite creepy and dark. I read ACOTAR a few months ago and didn’t really enjoy it even though I loved the Throne of Glass series so hopefully you enjoy it more! I’m quite excited about the sequel though as the ending was the best bit!

HAHA all of the books on your list are on my TBR as well, albeit they just didn’t make it on my top ten list! I really want to read An Ember in the Ashes. I heard nothing but great words for this book.

WINTER and LIBRARY OF SOULS are on my list today. I’m going to be re-reading book one and reading book two in the Peregrine series in anticipation of reading/reviewing LIBRARY. I’m excited! I love Patrick Ness’s Chaos Walking series, but haven’t tried out his new one yet.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Oh my gosh…Mara Dyer is AWESOME — especially the first book. You don’t know what is real or what is made up. Ahhh it’s so twisty and good! I also really enjoyed The 5th Wave and adored I’ll Give You The Sun (oh man the way the characters meet up and connect is soooo well done). Hope you get to these soon! 🙂

Such an exciting TBR! I do hope you love ACOTAR just as much as I did! And Queen of Shadows is simply amazing (even though I’m only on chapter 9!)
I hope you like Magonia. It is the biggest disappointment of the year so far for me! Which is so sad because the concept sounded so fantastic.
xoxo❤

Oh, that’s not so great to hear! Well, I’ll still give it a try. And I don’t think that I COULDNT like ACOTAR, I mean… Sarah J Maas wrote it. That means it’s perfect. 🙆🏼
